My 2nd Craft Show and getting ready for my 3rd!

I now have two craft shows under my belt. It was nice to support an organization that does so much for the community. The Blind Industries holiday fair was held at their training center on Northwood Drive in Salisbury, Maryland. On their website www.bism.org and facebook page the description of what they do is “…comprehensive rehabilitation and training programs along with diverse employment opportunities for blind and low vision people”. There were a lot of craft vendors there, but I was not expecting the amount of commercial vendors like Avon, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, and Paparazzi Accessories.

I guess I had gotten used to 3rd Friday in Salisbury where you must create what you’re selling to be allowed to participate. It amazes me at the amount of creative people we have in this area and the magnitude of their different types of crafts. I bought space for two tables and surprised myself by filling them up! I realize I need a tablecloth and have bought some red burlap material. I will be sewing that up this week before I attend the Milton Holly Festival on December 13th. I’ll be in the library, which is very fitting, as I love books. I have A LOT of Christmas jewelry and think I’m going to discount it a little bit at the Holly Festival. Most people probably want to buy their holiday jewelry back in November so they can wear it this whole month. But, I have plenty that is not Christmas oriented, too. Come on out to Milton, Delaware on Saturday. It’s the 25th year for their Holly Festival and it’s so large it takes four buildings to hold everyone; the fire hall, the library, the historic Milton Theatre, and Goshen Hall. A holly wreath-making demonstration is offered at the Historical Society Museum, and a Holiday House Tour starts at 2:30 pm after the festival. I believe everything is within walking distance and located in the downtown area, but I’ve never been before. They will be handing out brochures with descriptions of all the vendors and their location. I’m really excited to be part of this festival.

Peace and Love, Phyllis
